Heidi's House is the Australian version of the Austrian folk lore story of Heidi, a story of a young girl who went to live in remote regional Australia, the Central Australian desert, learning the old ways of the Australian bush, taking lessons from the stories of self-responsibility and self-awareness, of building a nation through positivity and building strength and community through connections.
As the Austrian story goes, as Heidi grew, she knew she didn't own that knowledge, and she used every opportunity possible to transfer this knowledge to others to improve people's lives and her country. She shared stories of life, faith, fresh air, fresh farmed produce and a care for country.
Heidi's House core aim is to provide connection just like the Austrian Heidi did but from the Australian Heidi, sharing stories of our rich Australian history, through the eyes of the people and places of regional Australia. Heidi's House aim's to provide opportunity for communities to connect from the city to the bush to enrich all our lives, to support our nation to thrive and take pride in all that we are.
In honour of the inspirational Australian people that have gone before us that have enriched our lives, our elders, farmers, nurses, teachers and preachers and especially the women that have held it all together in extraordinary circumstances, join Heidi in the next chapter of Australia's story.
